The Devil Queen

How my wife and I sold our souls to the Queen Anne Victorian we tried to save.

Name:
Location: Crow Mountain, Arkansas, United States

Synopsis: This is a cautionary tale. A seriously disturbed couple find the charming, old ruin of a Queen Anne Victorian in Russellville, Arkansas, and buy it for $1.00. They tore the roof off, cut it in half, and had it moved to some land they owned sixteen miles away because they didn't know any better. Since then, they have hired and fired contractors, had all of their tools stolen, re-wired, re-plumbed, insulated, and essentially rebuilt the entire house. Their only problem is that after four years it still isn't finished. Now they are tired, broke, and wonder what in the hell it is they've done to themselves. And, it's haunted.

Better Off Dead

Well, maybe not.

I spent the last week wrestling with the flu, and I think the flu won. Sure, I’m out of bed, back to work, and doing all the crap I usually do, but I really wish that I wasn’t. I think I could use 2-3 more days of sleeping. A good fever will suck the life out of you after about three or four days.

Kenny’s still working his magic on the Queen so something is going my way. When I manage to peel myself off the floor, I’ll post some pictures of the kitchen, et cetera.

I feel for you. I have some how managed to dodge the bullet for the past 12 months or more. Don't ask me how.

Well, Good luck to ya. You've probably been too busy with your island to get sick.

I hadn't caught the flu in years (five or six), so I guess my time was up. Maybe if I'd been working on the Queen more I'd have dodged the bullet too.
