Synopsis: This is a cautionary tale. A seriously disturbed couple find the charming, old ruin of a Queen Anne Victorian in Russellville, Arkansas, and buy it for $1.00. They tore the roof off, cut it in half, and had it moved to some land they owned sixteen miles away because they didn't know any better. Since then, they have hired and fired contractors, had all of their tools stolen, re-wired, re-plumbed, insulated, and essentially rebuilt the entire house. Their only problem is that after four years it still isn't finished. Now they are tired, broke, and wonder what in the hell it is they've done to themselves. And, it's haunted.

Thanks.
It's still a mixed blessing for me. The "?" really has a lot to do with me having once believed that we'd be finished with the Devil Queen by now. I'd find it funny if it was someone besides me saying that.
Congrats and Happiest Birthday to the Devil Queen and her new owners.
Just remember John...it's always darkest before the dawn~
Congrats! Hurray.
"Finished"??? Does not compute. (Not after 20 years.) Here's a glass raised in congrats for the most painfully honest/funny/informative houseblog around the 'sphere!
Congrats on coming so far in this short time. And congrats on keeping up with the updates. You're one of the sites that I check up on every (week)day!
(I thought it was always darkest after you blow the fuse, and then stub your shin stumbling around looking for the candles or flashlight which aren't where you left 'em .... But maybe I'm wrong).
Thanks everyone!
Angus, I think your "in the dark" experiences sound a lot more like mine, but I'll take well-wishes of any sort, so thank Poppy.
