Synopsis: This is a cautionary tale. A seriously disturbed couple find the charming, old ruin of a Queen Anne Victorian in Russellville, Arkansas, and buy it for $1.00. They tore the roof off, cut it in half, and had it moved to some land they owned sixteen miles away because they didn't know any better. Since then, they have hired and fired contractors, had all of their tools stolen, re-wired, re-plumbed, insulated, and essentially rebuilt the entire house. Their only problem is that after four years it still isn't finished. Now they are tired, broke, and wonder what in the hell it is they've done to themselves. And, it's haunted.

Our Old House - RIP - Links
In my last post, I mentioned
Our Old House (though not by name), and I've a request for more info on the blog. They have pulled their site from the web although there is a "thanks for the memories" and a graphic in its place.
You can go
here and
here at Houseblogs.net and pull all of their old posts though. It is a beautiful house and it was very sad to see them go.

The links (internal to houseblogs) seem to be dead - or maybe I'm doing something wrong?
Why would they pull their blog, even if they were leaving the house? All the work and photos aren't any good to anyone now???
I don't understand... and I'm seriously bummed out that I missed this blog.
Ranty,
I don't know what happened to the links. They all worked when I originally posted this. I have no idea what happened to it. Anyone less technology challenged than me have any ideas?
I went through all of this a few months back trying to find out what happened. They have some pics on flickr and I left a comment asking what ever became of them to no answer. It really sounded like they escaped with their sanity.
